This is our moment-All In

AACN President Elizabeth Bridges has announced her theme for this year. “This Is Our Moment, when the world celebrates us as the most trusted profession, it has also learned that the care we give every day as acute and critical care nurses is unique, and it cannot be replaced,” Elizabeth Bridges.

This is the year of the nurse and this year has been a wild ride so far with COVID. As nurses and critical care nurses we are seen as the most trusted profession and this is even more so as we are dealing with ALL aspects of COVID-19. Patients and families look to us for information, compassion, empathy, and love. This is especially true when families are not allowed to be at the bedside of their family member who is dying. We are there to hold hands, to pray, and to give comfort. 

I am very proud to be a nurse and a critical care nurse. I am also very proud to work with an amazing group of critical care nurses and non-critical care nurses. You guys rock!!!
